During the pre-field departure process, a field location is determined, a monthly budget is established and raised, and the missionary completes specific tasks to prepare them for field service. All new missionary field assignments will be in locations where we have established, long-term missionary work with veteran field teams that have experienced leadership. The location may not be where the new missionary desires to serve long-term, but it will provide them with needed experience and hands-on training to serve cross-culturally in a team setting while they learn key skills to establishing ministry and engaging unreached peoples with the gospel.
During the first two years of field service, the missionary is equipped in three key ways:

Establishing personal identity in Christ while instilling the DNA and Core Values of Go To Nations. Establishing apostolic team as spiritual family, cultural adaptation, and language learning.

Engaging in the culture while training in evangelism and reaching the unreached. Engaging in discipleship groups while also learning the principles of establishing a lasting work in the Kingdom of God.

Empowering the missionary to draw on their individual giftings and the corporate giftings within the apostolic team. Empowering future, long-term ministry through exploration, partnership, and strategic ministry planning.
HERE IS WHAT OUR MISSIONARIES HAVE TO SAY:
"During my time as a new missionary, God brought me through many challenges where I was stretched in areas like boldness, strength, relationships, healing, and many other things. I came out realizing that I have what it takes to be a missionary on the front lines of the mission field. No matter what challenges lie ahead, I now know I can face them."
Michael Biggs - Chiang Rai, Thailand
"It was just like learning to walk and someone leading you and guiding you every step of the way. We had the heart and desire to serve others, but God also wanted to serve us as well. Our lives are forever changed because of the foundation we were blessed to establish through our first two years of training. My family is better off because of it."
Gwendolyn Stanley - San Pedro Sula, Honduras
"In the first two years of training, through a wide variety of experiences and ministry opportunities, God brought recognizable transformation to my life and a clarity of vision for the future. I felt confident in moving forward in the call of God that is on my life, knowing that I had been prepared, both personally and spiritually, to do so."
