THE NATIONS AT OUR DOORSTEP
One of the most incredible things we have witnessed over the years is how the nations are coming right to our doorstep.
People often think missions only happens when you board a plane and cross an ocean. But we have seen over and over that God is bringing the nations to our door right here at Eden Gardens.
At the farm, we grow many things that may seem unfamiliar to the average American family. But for people from places like the Philippines, Africa, the Caribbean islands, and South America, these crops are more than just food. They are memories. They are comfort. They are home.
Cassava. Roselle hibiscus. Moringa. Chayote. Turmeric. Ginger. Lemongrass.
We have watched faces light up when someone spots a plant they grew up eating as a child. We’ve listened as families teach us how they prepare these foods back home. We’ve had conversations about medicinal herbs, traditional recipes, and family memories passed down through generations. We have learned so much from people who come through the farm. We’ve even had people gift us plants and seeds and say, “Here, grow this.”
Ministry begins in these moments.
A simple harvest often turns into a conversation.
A conversation turns into relationship.
Relationship opens the door for the gospel.
This is the beauty of the Kingdom of God. Creation itself becomes a bridge. The garden becomes a place of planting seed. We are seeing firsthand that food and farming has a way of making people feel seen and welcomed.
A familiar plant says, “You belong here.” It tells people that they matter, that their culture matters, and ultimately that they were created intentionally by a loving God.
So much of what we do at Eden Gardens is about connection:
Connecting people to the land.
Connecting neighbors to their community.
Connecting hearts back to their Creator.
We believe the garden reflects the heart of God. Seeds multiply. Tables gather people. Harvests are meant to be shared. We are watching God use something as simple as growing food to unite people from every tribe, tongue, and nation. The nations are here.
And we believe God is preparing a harvest far greater than crops.
