RYAN HULL
Go To Nations Missionary to the Philippines
2012 Graduate of Christ For The Nations

I had heard of Christ For The Nations Institute through missionaries from Belize that I randomly connected to and believed it was the perfect fit for what I was looking for. I had a degree in teaching business and had gone on a short-term mission trip to Africa that really opened my eyes to God’s reality and power in ways I don’t think I would have experienced in America. I desired to learn more about the Holy Spirit and the Bible before I pursued my desire to teach in a Christian School and lead short term missions.
While at Christ For The Nations Institute, God led me to two mission trips in Asia alongside Go To Nations missionaries with Ms. Hobbs where my heart began to break even more for the nations, and cry out for the unreached to at least have an opportunity to know of Jesus. This put the burden in me even more so to lead short term missions and offer myself to God.
I was willing to go full-time, but that was still was not my plan. I thought I would join the Youth or Pastoral Major, but found myself at peace in the mission’s office. Our first assignment was drawing a picture of what we felt called to. I knew on my last trip to Indonesia I had felt like God was telling me I would be back, and I was having some rather strange prophetic things happening concerning Asian islands. So I drew heart lines from America to the Asian islands and also back and forth between the islands.
A couple weeks later, God flipped my life around while my face was on the floor in the prayer room on campus. He confirmed my purpose and calling to Asian Nations. Never have I felt so loved, so driven, and so overwhelmed to know God knew me so specifically and had a plan for me that was better then my plan. I knew I would be a missionary in the Philippines and Indonesia, and have an impact, not by my abilities, but by God’s power.
I’m thankful for the connection between Christ For The Nations and Go To Nations as the short-term mission trip opened my eyes on a broader scale to what God sees and what His heart's cry is. I was also able to see missionaries that were giving their all and enjoying working together for Christ.
Through the field school, I was able to get irreplaceable preparation, encouragement, and confirmation for the area in the world where God had called me. I’m thankful for CFNI for their preparation and for their connection with GTN that set me up for success by training me and surrounding me with victorious like-minded family on the mission-field.
Five years later, I find myself living in the Philippines doing things I thought I had laid down. I found myself filling in for a missionary that suddenly passed away that also had a desire to reach people through business and raising up marketplace missionaries. Along with that, I found myself doing youth ministry, helping plant a church, and helping lead short-term mission trips for Filipinos alongside Go To Nations.
I am helping a small Christian school that reaches out to flood relocation victims to expand their school and their reach. I have had the pleasure of leading 3 short-term international trips that have now led to two current full-time missionaries from the Philippines to Thailand and Loas, and four more that are planning to go in the near future. I have seen close to 60+ people give their life to God and get baptized. I disciple 10 young men through our enjoyment of basketball.
I am also currently starting a woodworking livelihood business at the Christian School that will eventually train not only in woodworking, but in being entrepreneurial evangelists to the nations. We are also hoping to expand the school's reach through woodworking and gardening so that the school can offer 11th and 12th grade to reach it's students, the majority of which are not from Christian families. Thank you CFNI for the impact you have had on my life and the Nations.
