JENICE HARDESTER

Go To Nations Missionary to Thailand
Christ For The Nations Graduate

God called me to be a missionary when I was sixteen years old. The unfortunate thing is that I assumed I knew exactly what that meant and what that would look like. I attended Christ For The Nations Institute straight out of high school and graduated from the Global Missions Major. For field school, I chose to go to Botswana, Africa. When all of my requirements for CFNI were complete I began looking for opportunities to move to Africa full-time. This had been my dream for so long, but instead God directed me to go to Honduras and that is where everything changed.

While in Honduras I was divinely connected with the directors of the Go To Nations Timothy Internship Program. We became friends and when they found out that I would be returning to Honduras the following year, they encouraged me to join the internship; to which I declined. At this point, I was so tired of being in training and I had no intention of ever joining a missions agency but yet again, God stepped in and changed my plans. When the internship was complete I returned to the United States and a few months later I was at Go To Nations World Headquarters becoming a full-time missionary.

Nothing in my life looks the way I had imagined it would back when the Lord called me into missions. I never wanted to join a missions agency. I never wanted to work anywhere except Africa, but here I am a Go To Nations missionary, living in Thailand; living in obedience to God’s vision for my life.

I now have the privilege to work within the 10-40 window ministering to people who have never heard the Gospel before. I have opportunities to build relationship with Thai youth and children through various programs which open the door for sharing Jesus with them. I may not have the full picture of God’s plans for me yet, but if choosing obedience to Him over my own plans means that they can come to know Jesus, then everything has been worth it.
