JOHN & MIRIAM FROMENTHAL

Go To Nations Missionaries to Honduras
2012 Graduates of Christ For The Nations

It was in 2008 when we decided to follow God's heart for our lives, moving from our home to Dallas, TX to study at Christ for The Nations. We arrived with a not very clear vision of what God had already planned for us, but we were obedient to take the first step. At that time we did not know how far God would take us when choosing to study missions, but we trusted that His plan was best.

From the first day until the last day of school, we saw how God was confirming our call to missions. The words we heard from each teacher were key to guide us and reveal the heart of the Father for the nations. When it was time to choose a country to do our internship, God showed us Latin America. We went to Guatemala for two and a half months with Go to Nations, and it was exactly where God reaffirmed our call to missions in Latin America and where we were able to experience a glimpse of a missionary work in the field.

I, Miriam, a native of Panama, grew up in an indigenous community where we often received missionary visits. On one of those days, a group of missionaries were sharing Jesus' love in an open field. I spoke to Jesus deep within me, "Can I do this one day? Can I share your love just as they are doing?" A silent prayer became an answered prayer when God reminded me that just as those missionaries planted vision in my heart 12 years ago, now it was time for me to go and plant vision in the hearts of others.

Now we are missionaries for the Americas on our way to San Pedro Sula, Honduras. It was not an easy path to get there, my citizenship papers were holding us up and we had to wait for five years to be sent. There were also days where we felt like God’t plan for us was being taking away. We got discouraged many times and wondered why we had to wait for so long but God kept reminding us that he was making a way, even when we could not see it. Five years later, after returning from Guatemala, He said it is time!

We could not see the path back them, it was blurry, often dark but now we can testify of God’s faithfulness and we can say that we are more bold, stronger, and fearless to take over the territory God has entrusted us. It was also part of the journey to wait on God’s perfect timing. We realize every process has a beauty and we needed to embrace it.

It is our passion to see people’s lives transformed through the love and power of the Holy Spirit, meeting their physical and spiritual needs so that they might find purpose and hope in a lost world. We desire to work alongside pastors in reaching villages and children, helping to raise disciples in the local church, building up the Body, and planting vision so that they might go out and do the work of the Great Commission themselves. It all start’s with a Yes! After that, let God take you through the best ride ever. He will be there every step of the way.
